This baby is so calm and sweet! The quills on the head are now coming in, and you can see that there will be quite a bit of blue in the front, right where it is supposed to be! This is a little female.
This species takes about 15 weeks to wean, so we are looking at the end of Sept for go-home time. They are listed among the top three Amazons for speaking and singing abilities. They are quite active, so lots of wooden toys, an area to climb and swing, and healthy treats are needed. If not adequately socialized, the Amazon can become cage aggressive and a total perch potato!
