Our first Major Mitchell Cockatoo baby!! This species is one of the hardest Cockatoos to find, with only a few hatching each year. Among those that hatch each year, few are female.
Ok, ok, I didn’t hatch this baby out, I bought it from someone, but I am thrilled to be able to raise this little girl, also known as a Leadbeater Cockatoo in Australia. Raising one has been on my bucket list, so I am very excited about this baby.
She will grow to be a stunning bird, much calmer and quieter than many of the other Cockatoo species. As with all parrots, this baby will need to be taken out daily and socialized to keep her sweet and friendly.
