Meet Ollie, a wonderful 9 year old male Goffin Cockatoo. I hatched and raised him from my breeders, and he’s only been in one home since. He’s silly, talks when he chooses, loves to be out and about on a playstand, or his favorite place is on a shoulder of someone sitting down. I have started a list of phrases that Ollie says.
He is friendly to both males and females, and is gentle with children also. He has easily gone to many people who have visited here in the past few weeks that he’s been here. He is noisier in the evening at sundown, but not always, and not screeching loud, more like radio static noise. He sometimes pinches my finger when I stop rubbing his head, to remind me that I’m not finished yet… Other that than, I’ve not found any real problems.
This little guy will need a nice modern cage that has bird-proof locks on the food doors and regular door. The older style cage he came to me in has 5 padlocks on it since he has easily figured out how to open the latches! A 32″ x 23″ cage should be perfect for the little Houdini.
Ollie is being re-homed because his mom is very ill, and can not take care of him any longer. She is heart-sick at giving him up, so we are hoping to find a happy, busy family that will love this little sweetheart of a bird.
