This is our first Camelot Macaw! DNA is back, and we’ve got a male. Mom is the Catalina, and Dad is the Scarlet Macaw. I will continue to add photos as they start to feather out.
This guy has turned out to be very, very pretty! He’s got many golden yellow feathers on his wings, head, and two center tail feathers. There is an orange on the head, along with yellow, gold and green… Kind of like Ronald McDonald!! It looks like there will be more gold on the back turning into turquoise blue. Wings have some green feathers with yellow scallops, turquoise blue, and indigo blue on the flight feathers. many of the golden wing feathers are etched in red just on the tips. The deposit will be a little higher ($750), since the value of a Camelot is higher.
Baby has weaned early, he’s taken after his Blue & Gold grandparent!
